Ethical Aloe Ferox skincare and wellbeing, from South Africa to the UK

Natural Beauty Care is a UK-based distributor specialising in Aloe Ferox skincare, hair care, and herbal wellbeing products. Based in Scotland, we are the official UK distributor for the Aloe Ferox range, working directly with the South African brand owner and manufacturer.

Our focus is simple: responsibly sourced Aloe Ferox, formulated with care, and offered without exaggerated claims or unnecessary complexity. These are products designed for everyday use, long-term skin comfort, and practical wellbeing support.

Aloe Ferox — a plant with purpose

Aloe Ferox is a naturally occurring aloe species native to South Africa’s Western and Eastern Cape. It has a long history of traditional use for skin care, digestion, and general wellbeing, and is valued for its naturally concentrated composition.

Unlike intensively farmed aloe crops, Aloe Ferox grows wild and free-range, supporting biodiversity and soil health rather than displacing it. Careful harvesting ensures each plant can regenerate naturally and continue growing for decades.

Today, Aloe Ferox is used across:

This makes Aloe Ferox one of the most versatile botanical ingredients used across the Natural Beauty Care range.

Ethical harvesting & biodiversity protection

Sustainability is central to Aloe Ferox production.

Harvesting is carried out by trained, independent aloe tappers using low-impact, traditional techniques. Each plant is harvested only when mature, and only a portion of the leaf is taken, allowing the plant to recover fully. Some Aloe Ferox plants live for up to 50 years.

This approach:

  • Protects natural ecosystems
  • Preserves biodiversity
  • Supports rural employment
  • Maintains the natural potency of the plant

It is sustainability rooted in practice — not marketing language.

From South Africa to the UK — responsibly

All Aloe Ferox products are formulated and manufactured in South Africa by a family-owned business based in Albertinia. Their facility operates to modern manufacturing standards while remaining deeply connected to the local community.

They work closely with freelance harvesters, farmers, and local partners, creating a supply chain built on fairness, transparency, and long-term stewardship.

Natural Beauty Care was established to bring these products to the UK without diluting their integrity. We represent the range responsibly, staying true to the values that underpin the plant itself.

My discovery of Aloe Ferox

I discovered Aloe Ferox quite by accident while visiting my parents in South Africa. Within days, people began asking what I was doing differently — I was looking unusually well. For the first time in my life, I was receiving compliments on my skin.

That came as a genuine surprise. I’d struggled since my teens with sensitive skin and sun damage from growing up in a hot climate, so this sudden change felt unexpected — and very welcome. The reason, it turned out, was simple: I had switched to a natural skincare range based on Aloe Ferox.

My first step was using Aloe Ferox Super Aloe Gel as my daily moisturiser. It felt instantly fresh and noticeably firming, giving my skin a lifted, more supported feel. I later learned that it’s free from oil, parabens, and added fragrance — important for me, as fragranced products often trigger breakouts, even now. Despite being oil-free, it delivered impressive hydration without leaving shine on my combination T-zone.

For extra moisture and a smooth make-up base, I added Rejuvenating Essence. I was pleasantly surprised to discover it also offered natural sun protection. I put this to the test at a sunny sports day — my face and neck remained unscorched, while the rest of me… well, we don’t always get everything right, do we?

A real-life test

Then came a moment that truly cemented my trust in Aloe Ferox.

The radiator on my husband’s van failed catastrophically while he was working under the bonnet. If you’re squeamish, the less said about the next few hours the better. After emergency treatment — which left two district nurses visibly shaken due to the severity of the burns — a strict routine of daily dressings followed.

When it came time to remove the bandages and allow the wound to air, the only advice given was to “keep it moisturised”. There was no further guidance. Fortunately, I had already researched Aloe Ferox extensively and knew of its long-standing reputation for supporting damaged skin. I had also — somewhat nervously — invested heavily in stock, though it was still in transit and my husband couldn’t wait.

So I sourced Super Aloe Gel from another agent in England and began using it immediately.

At first, as the wound tried to dry and heal, the itching and discomfort were intense — almost unbearable. The skin began attempting to form a scab. Then something remarkable happened. After just two days — and that’s worth repeating, two days — he barely noticed the injury anymore.

A close friend of ours who works in a burns unit warned that, given the extent of the damage, infection and scarring would normally be expected. Yet neither occurred. Scabs never formed. Today, only photographs remain as evidence of the accident. As for the van — that went straight to the scrapyard.

He allowed me to document his recovery because the outcome was, quite frankly, extraordinary. You can view that journey in the burn case study.

From personal experience to purpose

That experience removed any lingering doubt. What began as a personal discovery became something I felt compelled to share. I turned my experience into a small business — one rooted in trust, integrity, and products that genuinely deliver when people need them most.

To this day, Rejuvenating Essence and Super Aloe Gel remain my hero products. They are part of my everyday routine — and the reason Natural Beauty Care exists at all.

Discover Aloe Ferox for yourself. Sustainably sourced, expertly manufactured, and designed for everyday life.
